Whiskey Sour

The most classic, and some might even say the best, of all the sours, is the Whiskey Sour. It’s all about balance, so even if you don’t usually like Whiskey, the combination of  Bourbon, Sugar Syrup & Lemon Juice, just can’t be beat – it’s a classic for a reason.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz. 45ml Bourbon
  • 1.5 oz. 45ml Lemon Juice
  • 0.75 oz. 23ml Simple Syrup
Display: oz. ml.

Instructions

Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake, then strain into an ice filled Old Fashioned glass

Garnish

Lemon peel or Maraschino Cherry

The first printed record of the Whiskey Sour appears in 1862 in Jerry Thomas’ How to Mix Drinks, though the recipe likely dates back many years earlier.
